Our Story

A New Chapter
on the Land

Founded in 2026, Nuevo Sunset Ranch is a small hobby farm nestled in the heart of Rocky View County, Alberta. We are a family on a journey — learning what it truly means to tend the land, raise animals with care, and grow something real from the ground up.

Our passion lies in sustainable food sourcing, agricultural education, and becoming more deeply entwined in the rhythms of farm life. Every season brings new lessons, and we embrace every single one of them.

We hope to be offering farm-fresh eggs, raw honey, and various other products in the not-too-distant future. This is only the beginning — stay tuned for what's to come.

Ranch Life Learnings

Tips & Tricks

Wisdom we're gathering as first-generation farmers — shared openly for anyone on a similar journey.

01

Start Small, Dream Big

Resist the urge to take on everything at once. Begin with one or two manageable projects, master them, then expand. A thriving farm is built one season at a time.

02

Know Your Soil

Get your soil tested early. Healthy soil is the foundation of everything on a farm — from the pasture your animals graze to the garden that feeds your family.

03

Work With the Seasons

Nature has a rhythm. Learn it, respect it, and align your work to it. Fighting the seasons is exhausting; flowing with them is what farming actually is.

04

Lean on Your Neighbours

The farming community is incredibly generous with knowledge. Introduce yourself, ask questions — the wisdom of experienced farmers nearby is truly priceless.

05

Keep a Farm Journal

Document everything — what you planted, what worked, what didn't, and when animals were born or treated. Notes from this year are invaluable next year.

06

Patience Above All

Farming teaches patience in ways nothing else can. Seeds take time. Animals take time. Skills take time. Embrace the slow and steady pace of the land.
